Built in just seven weeks over the summer months during the school holidays, this new timber framed eco-classroom in Hackney, east London, incorporates innovative design and style and blends with its urban backdrop.
The eco-classroom includes coloured external cladding, with bi-folding doors leading on to a wrap-around outside veranda area, to include an outdoor play and learning area.
Through using a blend of on and off site construction methods this modular classroom solution proved a quick-to-build and flexible alternative to traditional temporary classroom and mobile solutions. This Diocese School presented with restricted site access and limited options to build, which dismissed traditional brick building options and temporary mobile classrooms. We were able to provide a versatile and flexible practical alternative.
The building was offically blessed and opened by the Borough of Hackney's Bishop.
